Allowances and Adds-to-Pay


Allowances Continued when STIIP Benefits are Paid
Adds-to-Pay Not Paid when STIIP Benefits are Paid
Red-Circled Salary

For the purpose of STIIP, allowances and adds-to-pay are not considered to be disability income payments and therefore are not subject to the integration provisions of the Plan. The following paragraphs describe the relationship of allowances and adds-to-pay to STIIP benefits.

 

Allowances Continued when STIIP Benefits are Paid

Employees will continue to receive the full amount of the following allowances while absent due to illness or injury:

Adds-to-Pay Not Paid when STIIP Benefits are Paid

Adds-to-pay where the employee's presence on the job is the criterion for receiving the premium pay will not be paid during absence due to illness or injury. These adds-to-pay include:

All other allowances or adds-to-pay will be considered part of normal compensation through the end of the month following the month in which disability occurs. They will be subject to reduction to 75% or 66 2/3% (as appropriate) for that period, after which they will cease to be paid, e.g.

Red-Circled Salary

Where an employee is receiving a protected (red-circled) salary, the add-to-pay is considered part of regular pay.
